　　美国马里兰大学的阿布卡兰姆·薛苏登博士与美国国家癌症研究院的研究人员经过多年努力，发现六磷酸肌醇具有预防和治疗多种疾病的功效。它能抑制癌细胞生长，缩小肿瘤体积；抗氧化，抑制并杀死自由基，保护细胞免受自由基的伤害；防止产生肾脏结石；降低血脂浓度；保护心肌细胞，避免发生心脏病猝死；防止动脉硬化等。

　　它的防癌功效尤为显著：

　　肝癌：研究者将肝癌细胞注入未摄取IP6的豚鼠体内，结果有71％的豚鼠长出了肿瘤。另一些豚鼠在注射等量肝癌细胞前48小时，已先摄取了IP6，结果这些摄取过IP6的豚鼠无一长出肿瘤。然后，研究人员又给长出肝癌、癌瘤直径达8~10厘米的豚鼠注射IP6。连续注射12天后，这些经过注射IP6的豚鼠，肿瘤缩小了3/4。研究人员在实验中发现，只要将癌细胞用IP6处理一次，就可以阻止癌细胞形成肿瘤。反之，未经IP6处理的癌细胞均形成了肿瘤。当成形的肿瘤直接接受IP6治疗时，这些肿瘤就会缩小乃至消退。

　　皮肤癌：美国明尼苏达大学进行的一项研究确认，IP6能够对抗皮肤癌。其机理为：IP6可阻止细胞转化，并抑制激活蛋白AP-1，这种蛋白在肿瘤的发生发展过程中起着重要作用。

　　肺癌：在美国田纳西州，一名肺癌患者的癌细胞已扩散至脊椎及胸腔。他曾接收过31次化学治疗和放射治疗，同时服用“ALEXIE”（一种芦荟萃取物），以恢复免疫功能。自1998年6月起，他每日服用6粒IP6和肌醇片剂，4个月后，他脊椎上的癌细胞完全消失，肺部的肿瘤也在消退。

　　IP6还可抑制和对抗乳腺癌、结肠癌、卵巢癌、睾丸癌、脑癌、何杰金氏病、非何杰金氏淋巴瘤、直肠癌、胰腺癌、膀胱癌、黑色素瘤等恶性肿瘤，且对心肌梗死及其他缺血缺氧性心肌病有辅助治疗作用。但是IP6必须与肌醇同服，才可达到最佳疗效。
